Dear Molly, thank you for your bringing us up to date about Honduras. I have found it difficult to get clear picture of what has been happening there recently and your article makes it very clear. As some mentioned, it's ringing back the 80s when USA interfered in LA> I was in Chile 78 to end of 84.
By the way, I read Canticle to Liebowitz at least a year ago. It was interesting, also very pessimistic about our human family and heads of govt. to achieve peace without using nuclear arms. (Recently I gave a presentation about Depleted Uranium Weapons at UTEP as part of their Changing World Program on Monday afternoons in the OSHER Lifelong Learning program. About 25 came. I would like to give a presentation at
NMSU, maybe in the department about business ethics. I will be away from here from june 7th till july 12th and make contact there after that. (From 1985-1992 I lived in Alamogordo at Immaculate Conception parish. The Alamogordo Daily News was very good about publishing some rather long letters I wrote about SDI, Gulf War I, Arms Race and its effects, etc. One letter resulted in Pete Domenici calling me about SDI and an exchange of letters between us.)
Thank you again for your informing us so fully. Also for the pessimistic- plausible possibility of people getting power, using it badly, resulting in nuclear catastrophe, described in Canticle for Liebowitz. Did you read in NYT may 13th, I think, that about 1% of americans aare sociopathic and among Wall Street people, the percentage is 10%. What percent would there be in the Pentagon, Department of Defense, CEOs in weapons
industries? Peace and blessings. Denny O'Mara
