Make a U Turn

Think of eternity, my thoughts galore,
You cannot conceive how it is to be,
The joy, the peace, and the merriment,
A life unending in love for ever to be.
Be wise and strive hard for eternity!
Even an agnostic should be prudent,
You don’t loose a thing if it’s vanity,
If not, when you are not, you are lost.
Faith is the key; it's to be cultivated,
Live a life of hope, love and honesty,
Four score years is not our destiny,
And the grave is not our destination.
Desires like unending tides conquer us,
One after the other in rhythm it comes,
Unquenchable and unrelenting at times,
Yield not, keep aloof from things of evil.
Life is to be lived in glamorous vigour,
Yet real happiness comes from within,
As love, peace and joy takes abode,
Its rightful place within, then you are in.
Service to one another brings solace,
It brings merriment to many a heart,
Hold on to a life virtuous at all times,
Never shy away from the less fortunate.
Make it a passion to serve the needy,
Caring not just their physical needs,
Lack of wisdom leads many to doom,
Blow your trumpet, be a beadle to all.
Many more shores are to be conquered,
Many more laurels are yet to be won,
Life is to be cherished in sacrificial love,
Make a U turn to grasp the eternal reward.
