Everything in politics starts at the local level—good candidates, good ideas, critical services.

Mayors, city councilmen and women, school board members and township trustees make important decisions every day that shape the lives of Ohioans. And next week, Democrats across Ohio will be filing to run for local races. These candidates are determined, passionate, and have a vision for their community.  Their success is all of our success, now and in the future.

This is why, in 2015, the Ohio Democratic Party is reinforcing our commitment to electing Democrats at the local level, in communities across Ohio.

We are calling this strategic effort the Main Street Initiative.

The Main Street Initiative will be laser-focused on providing direct support to local candidates, including financial investments to targeted races, messaging, voter contact, and fundraising trainings, as well as access to cutting edge technology and data.  Senator Turner and I kicked off the Main Street Victory Fund with $12,500 in contributions from our respective campaign accounts, and others are joining in as well.
