functionality inquiry

Greetings,

I have recently found this wonderful software and I am truly enjoying its features. I have been perplexed by something though. I have seen people on youtube using what appears to be this 2d spectrogram to isolate and play back specific frequency sections of recordings. 

It looks like they are able to drag a box over a section of the spectrogram and playback only that specific frequency selection -effectively isolating the selected are of the spectrogram from the rest of the sound.

Do you know if there is a way to do that with this software? Are they perhaps using a modified version or a completely different app with simply a similar looking interface?

Here is an example of what I am talking about (please pay no heed to the subject matter, only this creators use of his software is relevant)

Id like to be able to do what he is doing at approx 1:13. You can see him drag a box selection onto the spectrogram and play it back. If you know how to do this, or what software he's using please let me know. Thank you in advance.

I'm pretty sure that what you want is Adobe Audition.
