Julie Greenberg and Just Parenting.

Join Big Blue Marble as we host local rabbi Julie Greenberg and her new book Just Parenting: Building the World One Family at a Time. When Greenberg was in her twenties, studying to be a Rabbi and living in a feminist world of non-traditional relationships, she wondered how she would create a family. As a single woman engaged in passionate activism, Greenberg had always planned to be a mother. This book details Greenberg's journey into spirited motherhood and tells the story of how she raised five children within a web of relationships that included donor dads, a gay male parenting partner, birth parents, multiracial children, women lovers and former lovers. Greenberg addresses the link between major issues of the day such as Race, Class, and Peace and the most micro moments of parenting such as how to deal with squabbles at the dinner table.

(Note - there will also be live music and food and fun in Mt Airy Village as part of their Mama's Day celebration all afternoon)
