Hello lovely Fringe-dwellers!
I haven't gotten a chance to update all of you in person, but I just started a new job as program coordinator for the LGBT Elder Initiative. The EI is a relatively new organization in Philly (it's been around for almost five years) dedicated to assuring that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender older adults have rights and opportunities to live vibrant, creative and mutually supportive lives. In addition to training service providers to better meet the needs of LGBT people, the EI also hosts a regular
Conversations series where community members come together to share their experiences, talk about issues that affect them, and get connected both to each other and to resources.
The next Conversation is taking place on December 6th at the Penn LGBT Center and it will focus on grief, loss, and possibility. I would love it if you could come! All the information is below. If you have questions or feedback, feel free to contact me.
With love,
Mai Schwartz
