Unableto determine if your iPhone camera is a genuine Apple part. This could be because the part is non-genuine or not functioning as expected, or the installation is incomplete." Can anyone please help and I also wanted to say that Apple is just playing with our money. Apple don't care about any of these issues
I am having the same issue just recently after I updated my phone to the recent IOS. My .5 does not work and most of the other features are a no go as well. I have never gotten my phone repaired nor is it broken. This is just crazy please fix it
The only things I noticed were: my camera lagged / froze last night while taking a video; this morning, I went to take a picture, and the screen was blank, but if I flipped the picture around (to take a selfie), it was ok.
The problem is that Apple doesn't take the phone with this problem in a trade in. I never replaced any part or never had my phone repaired except this problem, where my camera says unknown part. Because of this issue, apple trade in team revised my iPhone 12 Pro Max price from $450 to zero. So, basically we can keep using this phone without any issues but Apple thinks it's a third party camera and make it basically zero worth. At this point I fee like it's a customer service issue in my opinion. It's clearly been reported by many customers that they have not replaced their camera, yet Apple doesn't seem to repair this or fix the problem free of charge. What's more bad customer service is that they reject the trade in.
I have encountered with my iPhone 13 Pro following the update to iOS 17.4.1. Specifically, I have experienced persistent problems with the 0.5 lens. Based on my research, it appears that the mechanical stabilization feature of this lens may fail, particularly for users who frequently travel, ride motorcycles, or occasionally drop their phone.
My iPhone has never undergone any repairs, yet I was quoted approximately $400 by Apple Care for the necessary fix. Given the nature of this issue, I believe it warrants a recall from Apple. This situation reminds me of the 2016 MacBook Pro screen cable issue, which also resulted in a widespread recall due to a similar defect.
Unfortunately, the trade-in option is not viable for my device, which has never been repaired but now has a non-genuine camera issue. Consequently, I am left with the difficult decision of either purchasing a new iPhone at a substantial cost or paying a significant amount to repair my current device.
I have iphone mini 12. I recently broke the screen and, for speed, got a non apple screen replacement which is fine - I then got a 'unknown part' message in settings which I have read a number of times but cannot get rid of the notification on screen about the message - can anyone help - it is really annoying!
Thank you - phone works fine - I understand apple telling me in case I didn't know but have got message from them now loud and clear! Notification been on for over 3 weeks now - do you know when it will disappear please?
The message will never disappear completely. It shouldn't show up on your primary screens every day to remind you after a few days, from what I understand. In other words, it will ALWAYS show up in settings. Your phone just won't publish it on your home screen daily.
It's not the kind of language that Apple would use to describe it. They're far more diplomatic and non-judgmental about it. My understanding is that Apple's primary concern would be if third-party repairs were botched where something other than the screen assembly might be damaged.
The message will eventually go away, but you can't stop the message. Understand the speed part, but when you let a 3rd party replace parts on your iPhone, they don't have access to authentic parts and Apple can and often will refuse to provide support to a device which has non-authentic parts installed and certain features, such as FaceID and True Tone often no longer work on devices with 3rd party parts.
Sorry - I am not being clear - there was a message daily for 3 days which then disappeared but now I have a constant alert/notifications on 'settings' as though I have never read the 'important display message'. I click on settings/ read the message and then close settings. Despite this I cannot get rid of the red icon circle with a 1 in it informing me there is an unread message in settings - despite reading the message over and over! This is what i need to go please - if possible- or if it goes on own how long until it goes!!
No, I understand. The notice in Settings will be there forever and cannot be removed. If you're happy with the screen on your phone, just ignore it. It's not like you spend a lot of time in the settings app.
Hi! This is my first time ever posting on a forum - please forgive any unknown etiquette on my part. I have a 2015 Chevy Malibu LTZ 130+k miles with an undiagnosed issue(s) that is stumping the mechanics I take it to. My car starts and initially runs fine with the check engine light OFF. As I am driving I will feel slight vibrations in the steering wheel and gas pedal. As I continue to drive the vibration will continue and then my engine light will start to flash (from being off) and I will get an alert on my dashboard to check Stabilitrack. I will then turn off my traction control (I was told to by husband who has no idea what is actually going on), which will make the Stabilitrack alert go away. The check engine light continues to flash for another 10 seconds or so then turns itself off. All while I am driving. Once I turn my car back on (whether 10 seconds, 10 minutes or 10 hours), the check engine light is back off but the issue will repeat itself, usually at least once a drive. I am at a complete loss, my mechanics are at a loss and I would appreciate any insight, advice or tips.
A flashing Check Engine light indicates a major engine misfire is occurring, and continuing driving the vehicle while this is happening can cause major damage to the vehicle. This includes to the engine and catalytic converter(s).
My gm has phantom issues.
Never a flashing cel. Never runs rough.
I get stabilitrak warning. Abs light. Traction control off,
Next day all lights are off.
Changed egr valve. Was told that might fix issue.
Had 1 code for wheel speed sensor. Changed wheel bearing. Same issue.
Wire harness to wheel bearing? Possibly.
Problems with the crankshaft sensor will often present as problems with engine timing. If you think your sensor has failed, here are some common symptoms of a bad crankshaft sensor that can help you in determining whether or not it has failed.
That first sentence really hit close - I can almost force the issue to happen by just trying to coast or reduce speed without the brake. When I actually hit the accelerator or brake everything feels nice and tight but when I am coasting is when I can feel the engine or something start to shudder (for lack of a better phrase) almost like when there is slack in a pulley and it kind of jolts until it tightens out again. That is the best I can describe of the vibrations I am feeling.

That sounds like a description of a misfiring engine to me. I expect the posters above are spot on,engine is misfiring for currently unexplained reason, and the the stabilitrak warnings are the result of the misfire problem; i.e. the first order of business is to solve misfiring problem.
Just FYI- clearing the codes is just like erasing the blackboard. The problem is never resolved by erasing codes. If the problem exists, the computer starts a counter. Each time the diagnostic program is run on the engine control computer, if the problem remains, it increments the counter. When the counter exceeds a preset value, the computer illuminates the check engine light, alerting you to the problem. For misfires, this is really bad for the engine and catalytic converter in your exhaust system. So when those are detected, the computer immediately starts flashing the check engine light to get your attention there is a bad problem.
Your best bet is to have another diagnostic from a highly recommended mechanic or dealership service department. Be sure to tell them all the conditions you know that will reproduce the problem (e.g. coasting from 50mph, it always exhibits the problem) and let them do a proper diagnosis. Another example, if it needs to be cold to reliably repeat the problem, then tell them that and leave it overnight so they can test drive in the morning.
This is a great breakdown and explanation for me, thank you!!! I plan on giving all of this information and advice over to the mechanic so hopefully we have a starting point for this blind quest! I really appreciate everything! I plan on updating this once the problem is known and fixed in case this helps anyone experiencing the same.
Your explanation really helped me to understand what everyone is saying, thank you! I plan on giving all this information, what I see and feel (I even took a video to prove this is happening as noone else could get the issue to happen, but of course it is just of a light flashing, not much help!), and how to recreate the problem to the chevy service station. Thank you again!! I plan on updating this thread once the problem is known and fixed, in case anyone else is experiencing the same and could benefit!
