Option #1 (in order of preference):  silver braze the wires together with shrink-tube insulation.

Option #2:  solder the wires together, METAL (no plastic) crimp after soldering, THEN shrink-tube.

Option #3:  metal crimp with shrink-tube, and see how long it lasts (COULD be a long time, but…)

Do NOT use the regular old plastic-insulated crimp connectors.  Will not hold up long term.

My 2-cents.

·      Splicing replacement burners - 1 Update

Chuck Ushio <cus...@gmail.com>: Feb 19 07:26PM -0800

I just picked up a scrapped Flair that has 4 good burners for my RCIB-635-2
and the sockets and receptacles are in great shape.
My question is can I crimp on butt splices to the existing wires?
I have blue plastic coated butt splices.

Thanks for the reply and options.
I have temporarily used the blue plastic splices with heavy shrink to test the burners are wired properly and working.
I plan on permanently doing Option 1.
