So glad to see more people in our ranks.  Wish we could convince them to start making them again. I know... I know allllll the reasons why it will never happen. But it's the way I feel. I have met my "sister" thru this site ... And way cool people like LA Tom... who not only is a wealth of info, but also makes it allllll so much fun!  Now I have FOUR FLAIRS!  YIKES!!!

Welcome aboard, Scott!

Great to hear you're back in the game Angie! Where have you been? Well, I had five double ovens, and just located and brought home a single oven! Now I can cook a big 25 lb turkey for
thanksgiving in a larger pan than before in the double. In total 6 Flairs, all in good shape, so it just keeps getting better and a lot of fun.

As with Angie, Scott, welcome aboard and glad to have you with us. Carol is in charge and I am sure will give you the official welcome, there are some regulars that help all the time and they have helped a lot. Mark is always spot on with his advice, but you really have to pull it out of him, he is a wealth of information.

Your interest in the probe, is a good one and great design when working properly. The probe is an item put in the same category as the rotisserrie, the roasting pan and the kant slide grill not so much. The probe and rottisserrie are hard to find, and many of us don't want to let rare parts go out of our hands, since, they become so hard to find.  Keep looking on ebay for the
original, or maybe some one will come forward on this website and sell you theirs. As for a replacement, I have, checked many, but they do not fit or the plug ins are different, so I would just say be patient and get the original when the time comes. I am sure there are others out there that can add their suggestions too.

Good luck to all, and remember, the best thing that could happen to you is cooking on a flair

Best Regards

Tom Nichols
LA TOM

Thanks all for the welcome! I have but one Flair but have been
working it like a horse ever since I plugged it in. Naturally my
search will continue for the saught after probe. Creme Brulee to
chocolate souffle and working on the in between already!

If they did make a stove like this today Angie, I certainly wouldn't
be able to afford one! They say these ARE the good old days, but I'm
beginning to wonder.

I need a range hood for a 30 in flair - I bought one in ok condition but really want one that is up to the quality of my range which I have restored and is nearly perfect - does anybody want to sell one or know where one is for sale - many thanks - Lewis Sowell

Hello All,
I was snowed in and thinking. If one of you have the capability of
taking some close up pics and measurements. I have the electrical know
how and ability to build probes that should come in about 50.00 each.
I am not thinking of making money on them, but I want one also and
could make them easily. The stove schematic gives the probes specs.
but not the specifics on the connector. What I need is a very close up
pic of the plug end and a measurement of the length of the cord and a
length of the probe. The plug is standard. I want to make sure my
wiring connection for the plug end would be correct. The location of
the insulators on the plug will tell me that. The ones I could make
would be stainless braid cable and a stainless sealed food service
approved probe with a silicone jacketing at the cable connection ends.
It would electrically be the equivalent of the original and operate as
the original did.
Happy Saturday!
Brian in Oklahoma

I THINK I have the real McCoy... Not sure it works. Tried it once, but long ago.  Neway, I will be glad to do that if no one else has yet. You experts can tell me if it is an imposter.

Hi, that would be great. It will take me a week or so to get the parts
but if it all works, I could have some ready to go in a couple of
weeks for those of us without.
Thanks
Brian

Ko, we got back last night late.  I will go take photos now.  I will have to try to test mine tomorrow.  ALSO, BE SURE to ask everyone that wants one to ORDER them first.  Just get a count, so you don't make them and then get stuck..

Well....... just check the temps on a digital thermometer as I have done and that will give the true temp ! I have a 635 that I need to drop back to the homeowner as I think we will be flooded out this spring in Southern Minnesota..as we live 4 blocks from the Minnesota river and its not looking good for us in Mankato.

I guess the people that want a probe are looking to see if the cookmaster device and the meat tender device are working on their Flairs, they don't work properly
with out a probe, if not at all. I suppose that's why Brian in Oklahoma wants to make them for people so they can get their Flairs working right.
Also, the CI, Custom Imperial comes with the meat tender, which has chrome ovens and has the device to insert the the meat tender probe. The CD, custom deluxe range, does not have the meat tender, and has enameled painted ovens and no insert device for the meat tender probe. Some may not be aware of the differences in both types of Flairs. If you don't have a probe, then to make sure the temperature is correct, the best way is to use a digital thermometer as Dave suggests.

Brian - I would be more than happy to tear the meat probe plug apart
and take pictures and measurements if it would mean getting ahold of a
working meat probe. I have read in other posts on other locations
about users distain with using the meat probe because it allows food
to overcook. I am well aware that the markings on the meat tender
scale are WAY over what is required to fully cook food and would find
it useful to set for "temperature" as opposed to "type of food" being
cooked. Also, it is just another feature of the range that I would
like in working order and I'm sure others would too! I will see about
getting pictures together tomorrow (Monday) and hopefully assist you
in fabricating a working meat probe!! If anyone else already has this
information (or an actual probe plug for measurements) please speak
now!

I won't bother tearing my oven apart guys...I see you have it under
control as usual! Please put me down for a probe when the R&D is
finished and they are ready to roll...or stick...whatever the case may
be. :)
