Hello all, Ok so it’s not a Flair but I love it just the same and it fits into the existing opening in the kitchen of my 56’ time capsule.  I just got this oven for $50 off craigslist and want to give it the cleaning it deserves.  I’ve been unable to get the glass cover and surround off.  I removed the main door and a “L” shaped bracket that secured the cover from below.  I also removed the plastic piece that makes up the “sill” of the cover.  The bottom and sides are loose but the top is still attached somehow.  It’s difficult to see what exactly is still securing it.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Russell

its probably held there with 40 yrs of cooking grease......
actually, to remove it, u need to take the 2 screws off the top trim, remove the little nut thingy that holds the oven light switch to the glass as well as the knobs and dials. then the glass will tip forward to come out.
BE SURE TO HOLD IT AND AVOID THE FRIGIDAIRE FLAIR TRAUMA OF A BROKEN CONTROL PANEL GLASS!!
I have service manuals of you need more information

Thanks Steve for the advice,  The screws on the top trim were missing when I got the oven.  I did take all the knobs off, it didn’t appear to have the nut thingy on the light knob.  The housing that holds the glass is detached at the bottom and sides but the top is somehow still secured.  I can move the bottom out about 2” before the top restricts it.  Thanks for the heads up on the glass.  I learned my lesson when I almost lost the main door glass when I took the two pieces of the door apart.  I’d like to know how I could go about getting a copy of the manual you refer to.

Parts wise I’m also looking for one plastic washer that goes between the door handle and the oven door.  Overall the washer is black and rectangular in shape.  Its flat on the side that rests on the door and concave on the side that faces the handle.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who loves that colored clock, how many years was that produced?

Thanks again,

Russell

great idea on the manuals that Steve has. Those manuals I am sure would help me a lot too! If there is a way to have them duplicated, I would be interested, thanks for your time, and good luck Russell, I am sure it will work out, and I am sure you are getting the flair addiction, later
