Does anyone know what kind of light bulb or fitting works in the Frigidaire Custom Imperial Oven?  I bought a house with the oven built in, and it works great, but there is no light bulb and from what I can see inside, it is an older light fitting that would not work with today's bulbs.  Any manuals that would specify it?  Any place I could order a bulb or fitting that would work?

i think it's just a 40watt appliance bulb.

Thanks for the replies.  I guess maybe I'm missing something because when I look in the lamp recess, there is no fitting to screw a bulb in, I see a ceramic insert (kind of a trapezoid) that is wider than a bulb and has no screw threads anywhere, it's basically blank with some metal electrodes that are flush with the walls.  I'll try to get a photo when I get home and upload so you can see what I'm seeing.

Do you know what the model number is to your Flair?

I'm not sure.  It is a Frigidaire Flair Custom Imperial, oven only.  The house was built in 1962 and the oven is original as far as I know.  The attached photo shows the oven.

That's a Flair :) Says so on the door. I look forward to the picture of what you are seeing. That will help!

Doug,

All the imperials from 1960 on use the standard 40w appliance bulb.  I use one from Home Depot listed for ovens (high beat).

Sorry this took a few days, attached are two photos of the oven light recess.  As you can see in the photos, there is no place to screw in a bulb, though it does look like there is a name engraved "Leviton" and possibly leads for some sort of connection.  Any thoughts?

It is a standard Edison base. The threaded portion in yours has come apart. Fix is to remove and drill out old fasteners get a screw base socket from another type of oven light along with the high heart wiring. Drill out old rivets and re assemble. A pain but it's the fix.

Looks like the bulb connector was either removed, or rotted out.  You will need to get someone into replace the appliance bulb connection.  Then you can use the regular appliance bulb for ovens.  I had the same thing happen about 10  years ago.  I used a local to me repair man (Maryland City, Maryland) and they were able to put in a new connector.

That's what I thought, but wanted to get some feedback from others.  Appreciate all the responses, I'll probably take a crack at removing the housing myself and see if I can't put in a new socket/connector.

Attaching instructions. You need to replace from the top.
