SD-CAMP Members, Loan Originators, Lenders, Support Service Providers, Realtors, and Business Associates
Thank you to all those who attended our seminar Friday. We had close to 120 attendees!
I would first like to express my thanks to out two primary event sponsors, Sierra Pacific Mortgage, SD. Branch Mgr.- Lanell Silverstein, and Property Sciences AMC, Manager -Tiffany Wojick, for their generous contributions. Without them, this informational event would not have occurred.
Also, a big thanks to the many SD-CAMP board people who put this together. Well done!
Our speaker panel from the CAMP State Board, Pres. Dale DiGennaro and GA Chair Fred Kreger, did an excellent job of explaining the member benefits and national political momentum of CAMP. Their emphasis on member growth for our trade group was right on the money. As Fred Kreger explained. “There simply is NO other group of mortgage professional supporters that have any interest in ensuring our business survival and profitability”. For those who have not yet become paying members of CAMP, please consider doing so as soon as possible. Many of you may be under the current Platinum Partners subsidized cost of only $35, if paid by end of Dec. (Check with me if unsure of your annual fee level.)
We also had the rare opportunity to hear directly via Skype Video from her Wash. D.C. office, our Federal lobbyist, Dr. Leslie McCollum-Gooch. She discussed the sensitive new legislative and regulatory issues facing us primarily in regards to LO compensation, YSP, and the general political environment. This was good insight about the efforts being fought on our collective behalf.
Last, and most importantly, it was apparent from the large turn out and the many questions, that we are again gaining momentum as a viable trade group. That brokers and support affiliates are feeling better about the market upturn. And perhaps most importantly, that due to reduced numbers of originators, once again our ranks look highly professional and committed to both consumer protection and business growth and profitability. They can exist side by side! It is time once again to promote a message of service, honesty, and value to the public and the media. If anyone has a desire or opportunity to engage in any public housing and financed support workshops, seminars, or media events, please contact me directly and lets discuss the platform and best use of or resources to make a successful presentation.
Stay tuned for more upcoming CAMP events.
I look forward to serving on your behalf as President of SD-CAMP for 2011
