An update to on the Improve Lingampally Station movement. Firstly, I want to thank all of you for the signatures you have personally made and some who have taken the extra step and also got their friends and family to sign. These signatures on change.org are helping us highlight the cause to the authorities.

On Monday, the members of Forum to Improve Lingampally Station members met the MP Sri Konda Vishweswar Reddy and South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager (GM) Sri Vinod Yadav. 

The MP agreed that improving Lingampally station is a genuine demand and has agreed to take up this issue in the Zonal meeting of SCR GM and MPs of the South Central railway zone. He has written letters to the SCR GM and Railway minister asking them to consider our requests.

Later the members also met the South Central Railway General Manager and SCR Chief Operations Manager. Regarding halting of Mumbai bound trains the authorities felt that stopping a train for 2 minutes would add 10 minutes to the trains schedule and the railways would examine the feasibility of halting the proposed trains at Lingampally. Regarding starting Gautami, Coconada, Falaknuma, Narayandari expresses from Lingampally, the railway authorities mentioned that availability of water at Lingampally station is a major issue and if the state Government can ensure adequate supply of water at Lingampally station the railways would consider allowing passengers to board trains at Lingampally. We are working with the MP and Railways to ensure our objectives are met. Will keep you all updated.

We met the MLA Gandhi garu yesterday and he has assured to take the forum members to the South Central Railway General Manager to make the following demands.

As a first step-

1) The Railways can halt the following trains at Lingampally Station as these trains already pass through Lingampally.
• 12701 & 12702 Hussain Sagar Express
• 17017 & 17018 Rajkot Express
• 17013 & 17014 Pune-Hyderabad-Pune Express
• 11019 & 11020 Konark Express
• 12025 & 12026 Shatabdi Express
• 12731 & 12732 TPTY – Secunderabad – TPTY Express

2) Trains starting from Secunderabad but parked at Lingampally Station. Railways can allow boarding at Lingampally as people have to go to Secunderabad to board these same trains that actually start from Lingampally.

• 12776 Coconada Express
• 12734 Narayanadri Express
• 12704 Falaknuma Express

We are hoping that with public pressure, these demands will be met.

2) Two weeks ago, the team met the Lingampally station in charge and did a fact finding study. After the study we have come to the conclusion that the movement should be split into two phases. 

Phase 1 - Get a stop at Lingampally for all trains passing through Lingampally and also enable boarding for all trains being parked at Lingampally. Gouthami, Falaknuma, Narayanadri, Coconada expresses are being parked and started from Lingampally but still all of us have to travel to Secunderabad to board. The team felt this is an achievable objective.

Phase 2 - Get trains to begin from here to mutliple destinations that are not being currently served from Lingampally.

We have got our first success. On Saturday, the Honourable Railway minister announced that two trains viz Mumbai-Konark Express and Hyderabad-Pune express will halt at Lingampally station. 

Our next target is to work with the Railways so that Gouthami Express, Narayanadri, Coconada, Falaknuma expresses start from Lingampally.

Our online petition and all of your efforts to spread the word have given us this result. Lets continue our hard work to make Lingampally have more trains thereby reduce the suffering of people in this area.

The Forum to Improve Lingampally Station members met the General Manager SCR and Secunderabad Divisional Manager to discuss the demands regarding Lingampally station. 

The following are the updates 

1) Escalators would come up on 1,6 platforms. 
2) MMTS extension to Ramachandrapuram will be considered. 
3) Work on allowing the boarding of Gautami express from Lingampally is in advanced stages.
4) Request for Halt for Rajkot-SC, SC-TPTY Padmavathi Express, YPR - GKP (15015/16) expresses has been sent to the Railway board.

The forum will continue its efforts to Improve Lingampally station.
