Hi neighbors on St Johns Pl,

Thank you to new folks for signing up. A stewarding and gardening group like ours is only ever as real as the number of people who answer, and a lot of you have answered.

Join our cleanup this Saturday, August 15, 9am to 12pm

Meet at 403 St Johns Pl, between Underhill Avenue and Washington Avenue. Bags and grabbers provided. Bring gloves if you have them. Come for twenty minutes or the whole morning, both are useful. Find us down the block after 9am.

The rats, and 311 complaints that actually help

Council Member Hudson's office, told us plainly what moves the Health Department: the number of 311 complaints on a specific address. Several complaints about the same building beat scattered single reports. So if you have seen rats on our block, please file a 311 complaint, then paste the complaint number here: https://friends-of-st-johns-pl.github.io/#rats. The city is planning to review these buildings this month.

That page also walks you through the 311 form field by field, with suggested answers you can copy. It takes about 5 minutes. We collect the numbers and send them to the council office, who pass them to the Health Department.

Thank you again. See you Saturday.
