The countdown is on! We are less than TWO WEEKS until THE BLOCK PARTY! Here's where things stand:

THE BOUNCE HOUSE IS CONFIRMED!  Everyone's favorite activity (ok MY favorite activity is back for another year. And yes, there will be a slide!

WE GOT MUSIC! Amir will be providing the tunes again! The Dance party will be going on all day! Also, I'm hearing that a few live performances might be in store? Want to perform? LET ME KNOW!

FOOOOOOOD! I'll be making a Costco run with Randy from 426 the week before the party to pick up Burgers, Dogs, Chicken, and other odds and ends. We're getting some corn and vegetables from Farmer Mike at Upstate Farms! The POTLUCK table will be out and ready for your specialties, feel free to chime in on the spreadsheet what you are planning! (also I have an abundance serving spoons everyone left last year).

GRILLLLLLLLL! Irene's grill will be coming out, and I've already gotten some volunteer grill masters to help get it going, but can always use more!. We'll need charcoal, so before I go on the hunt, LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE SOME BAGS YOU'D LIKE TO DONATE!

ICE CREAM HAS BEEN ORDERED! For the second straight year, we're getting TWO TUBS from our friends at HEAPS on 7th Avenue! We'll have Cookies & Cream and a Mango Sorbet, so everyone can have a treat!

RAFFLES! Prizes are coming in (Radio Bakery, for example), but can always use more! Check the spreadsheet for how things are looking! And keep me updated! And, as always, we'll need some hands running the raffle table.

BLOCK GREENING STATION! Our AWARD WINNING BLOCK GREENING COMMITTEE will be set up to share information on upcoming greening and beautification plans, including the upcoming FALL DAFFODIL PLANTING and COMPOSTING. We can talk about plans for the treebeds for 2027, and are on the hunt for next year's lead gardener! SCRAM will also be present, to discuss our least favorite furry neighbors, and we will have our favorite TREE BED SIGN MAKING STATION!

SPBA MEMBERSHIP TABLE! The Block Party is an excellent time to re-up your membership in the Sterling Place Block Association, or to finally join! We'll also be on the lookout for candidates for a new treasurer and secretary for the November elections! This would be a great time to find out how you can help your neighbors, and contribute to one of the best blocks in Brooklyn!

As always, this is YOUR PARTY! Let me know what we can do and how you'd like to contribute, or what you are looking for! And, as always, please keep the spreadsheet updated!
