Welcome to the Friends of St. Johns Pl mailing list! We are so excited to have you with us as we kick off a neighborhood effort to make our block greener, cleaner, and healthier.
Have you noticed the tree beds on St. Johns looking a little tired lately? Between heavy foot traffic and summer heat, our local urban canopy needs some serious love.
We are hosting our very first Street Tree Care Day on Sunday, July 12th, and we need your help to transform the block!
What: We’ll be clearing out litter, gently tilling compacted soil, and laying down fresh compost and protective mulch for 37 street tree beds on our block (between Washington and Underhill). This will build a nutrient-rich foundation so we can plant beautiful native perennials later this fall!
When: Sunday, July 12th, from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM. (This is a drop-in event—feel free to swing by for 20 minutes or hang out with us all morning!)
Where: Meet up at the corner of Washington Ave & St Johns Pl.
No experience or tools needed! We’ll provide all the gloves, trowels, bags, and guidance you'll need. It’s a fantastic way to meet the folks living right down the street, get some fresh air, and do something tangible for our immediate community.
