Hi all,
Sorry for the multiple emails but there has been a change in the schedule for the matches tomorrow and we have just learned about the death of another Quake rugby brother.
The Agenda for this weekend has been moved up 30 minutes due to a rugby match that was scheduled for 3:30.
Saturday's Agenda
10:45 AM - Carpool leaves Starbucks on Olive
11:30 AM - Quake kitted and warms up for matches
12:30 PM - Quake vs Microsoft (2nd Side Friendly Match)
2:00 PM - Quake vs Corvallis (League Match)
4:00 PM - Drink Up at Purr
Sunday Wake to also remember Gregory Hampel We just learned today that another one of our Quake rugby players died in 2008. On the evening of Sunday, August 10, 2008 Gregory was walking his dog in West Seattle when the dog ran onto 35th Ave SW. Gregory followed after his dog and was struck by a car. Unfortunately he died in surgery that evening at Harborview.
Those of you that remember Gregory will certainly remember what a wonderful and funny guy he was. What I remember most was how he "screamed" when he was being tackled which was just a little embarrassing as a new rugby club taking the pitch. There are more stories and we encourage you to come to CCs on Sunday at 5 PM to share the ones you have.
I'm hoping this is the last email I will be sending before the weekend as I'm getting tired of typing and I'm sure you're getting tired of all the emails.
Please forward this email to anyone you suspect might not be on the Quake Alumni list.
Mike Farris,
Vice President/Match Secretary/Founder - Seattle Quake Rugby Football Club
Exec Secretary/Div III Coordinator - Pacific Northwest Rugby Union (PNRFU)
Player - Seattle Rockets Softball Team
