Hi Everybody,

As you probably know, Pritzker is a Fine Arts Magnet Cluster school.
So, Friends of Pritzker has worked with the school to open up the
auditorium to bring a variety of best in class performers to expose to
our children and community. After all, how would you ever know if your
child is moved by classical piano, tap, opera, theater, etc. if s/he
hasn't been exposed to these art forms? With that question in mind,
Friends of Pritzker is very excited to invite you to our first Family
Fine Arts Night.

We have an amazing artist right out of the gate: Ugochi Nwaogwugwu*. A
Chicago artist, originally from Nigeria, she is coming to sing and
dance and teach us a thing or two about music & rhythm in the process.
We would love it if you and your children could come. Ugochi is
performing at the Double Door the next night so we lucked out in
getting her! Here are the details:

Thursday, February 26th
6PM-7PM

$5/family suggested donation (we'd rather have you than the donation,
if it is a point of hesitation)

*A former rapper, turned poet, gone singer, Ugochi has become
extremely versatile and creative with the range of music she is able
to preform. Ugochi's music has allowed her to travel to many countries
in Europe including performing her extremely individualized form of
sound power in Paris, Amsterdam and London. She has been featured on
WTTW's Wild Chicago and Artbeat Chicago, WXRT, as well as performed
with acclaimed artists such as Common, Eric Benet, Michael McDermott,
Edwin McCain and Maxi Priest. She was selected as a finalist in the
HBO/Russell Simmons Def Poetry Jam 2001 Competition. She also
performed in Dance Africa Chicago 2001 where she received rave reviews
by the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun Times. In 2003, she was
selected as a semi-finalist on Star Search, and also wrote a song
performed by R&B star Kelis.
