Why are Massachusetts towns and cities not spending money on things that directly improve the lives of people most hurt by the pandemic? This surreal choice made by the Town of Brookline makes the use of ARPA funds for road work in West Newton (reduction of lanes from four to three on Washington St between Lowell Ave and Chestnut St) look reasonable, only by comparison.
