There is quite a population of people, tents, chairs, junk, parts of bikes, rotting food, etc., both on the Geary/Steiner overpass and on the sidewalk on the Steiner side of Hamilton Rec.  The other day, they had the sidewalk on Steiner almost blocked when I walked through there with my grandson (although today, at least there was an open path on Steiner).  I did not use the overpass, but walk by it several times each week.  It reeks of urine.

Also, I'd like to give a big THANKS to Rec and Park employee Omar who called 311 when a woman set up a tent on one of the main paths in Kimbell Park.  She was tossing garbage all around.  When I returned about two hours later, there were a couple of people, maybe outreach workers, talking to her and helping her get her belongings together.

I had called 311 last week when Eddie and his lady friend set up the clear plastic tent in the middle of the sidewalk at Geary the entrance to the park nearest to the school.  The tent was moved slightly the next day and then over next to the the overpass before it finally disappeared.
