Hi Kimberly,

For MLK JR National Day of Service on MON JAN 20, I would consider these sites;

·         AAACC

·         Ella Hill Hutch

·         Rosa Parks Senior Center

·         Buchanan Mall

·         Plaza East

·         Kimbell Park

I’ve copied everyone on this email that is connected to these sites for you to reach out to for participation & organizing.

Happy New Year,

Vallie

As we discussed in the meeting, better it's small & successful, making sure the volunteers experience is a positive one.

If Supervisor Breed is in agreement, I'm fine with the 3 sites.

I'll email you the contact information please reach out to them ASAP for their participation.

Thanks Vallie for the feedback.  Do you think it's prudent to explore that entire list or minimize it to the 3 sites you, Kriztina and I discussed - those include (AAACC, Buchanan mall and Plaza East)?

Also, if we will move forward with the working list I sent, i will need the contact info for the sites you mentioned.  If you all collectively think it's not worth it to include those sites, please let me know.

Thanks!

Hi Kimberley,

I read through the sites for MLK JR National Service Day.

A couple of things:

HANC Recycling is no longer a recycling center & I don't think the new site needs volunteers,

An alternative could be Kimball Park, there's also a group "Friends of Kimball Park" that I could connect you with?

If you're going to included Buchanan Mall, I would reach out to the SF Urban Commons & Bloom Justice folks to be part of the event. Let me know if you need their contact information?

Make sure to connect with the folks at Plaza East because you'll have volunteers cleaning right outside their door.

London, do you have any other suggestions?

Happy NewYear,

Vallie

Vallie -

I've attached the list of the target sites we've used in the past and we're still working out details based on the meeting between you, Kriztina & I from last week.

Please take a look at the list and let me know your feedback so we can continue with the planning for the sites that are realistic for this rapidly approaching date for National Day of Service.

Some of the sites were connected with a bussing project where volunteers were bussed to host sites to complete the activity.  With tight timing, I'm not sure if we are still interested in going this route.

Not listed on the sheet is the city departments & other organizations that have lent their help in the past and we'll likely need their help again this time around:

*DPW

*Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services (Kriztina Palone)

*SFMTA (if we're using public trans)

*Municipal Transportation Agency

*Recology
