Neighbors,

For years I have been picking up trash at the Beideman Mini Park, O'Farrell and Beideman Streets.  My efforts, the work on the Rec & Park gardeners, and perhaps others has kept the little corner quite beautiful.  A few weeks ago I discovered that the trash can on the street next to the park had been removed.  A "311" operator told me that someone had requested that it be removed because it attracted too much trash.  I requested that it be put back.  The condition of the mini park has deteriorated.  I have never seen so much trash everywhere, because there is no

Nowhere to dispose of it properly.  In the past there would be some litter to clean up around the benches, but now, there is paper and bottle trash everywhere - in the bushes and planting beds and stuffed in between the rungs of the bench.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to have a trash bin placed back on the corner?  The solution to too much trash is to request that the can be emptied more frequently, not to remove the can.

My only suggestion is to call Rec & Park and insist on it since they don't really attend to the park on a routine basis.   Or send an e-mail to Steve Cisnowski.

I am still awaiting confirmation from Rec & Park regarding our working in Kimbell Field on July 23.   I have it on my calendar so that I don't book anything else.

Yes, I'll do that.  I think that Steve is on one of those email distributions, but I'll try to make some calls anyway.  How can we add Alexandra Morgan to one of those email lists?  She lives on Beideman Street and has asked a couple of times to be notified of work parties.

July 23 is on my calendar also.  My husband Pete had rotator cuff surgery yesterday, so he may be limited in what he can accomplish, but he wants to work a little also.

Thanks, Dennis.

I admit that I am not a tech.   If you e-mail Callen Taylor who set up the mail list for the Friends of Kimbell Field, she might be able to add Alexandra.  Her email address is:  cntay...@gmail.com

Alexandra, For starters, call  311 and request that the receptacle be replaced.  I did this also (can't find my incident # right now).  The park was the worst I've ever seen it yesterday.

Thanks.

Hi Noni,

Thanks for this. I spent a good part of last Saturday picking up garbage there and an hour later there was more trash. I have no idea how to get another placed, but we need it badly.

Best,
Alexandra
