Hi everyone,

I'm writing to let you know that I will be resigning from my position as Executive Director of CCCO in July.

June 1, 2015 will mark my sixth anniversary as E.D., and after six years I am eager to return my full attention to being a trainer, coach and presenter, which are the things that I enjoy the most and where I believe I can make the biggest contributions.

I have been working with our Board of Trustees over the past few weeks to plan a successful transition and to establish the groundwork for an ongoing relationship with myself as a trainer for CCCO.

Basically, I intend to continue working in partnership with CCCO by offering public trainings and sharing NVC in organizational and workplace settings, which is something that I have increasing passion for.

As for the administrative work, leadership, fundraising, development and oversight of the organization that the E.D. role entails, those roles will be filled by other people moving forward.

One reason for my decision is because CCCO has grown and become so successful that I could no longer perform two roles:
1.  Leading, managing and overseeing the organization (Executive Director)
2.  Developing and delivering programs (Lead Trainer)

For the first three or four years as E.D., although it was difficult to balance everything, it was semi-manageable to do both of these major roles.

More recently, as CCCO has grown, it became clear that I could not do both effectively... and actually, I was doing both with much less effectiveness than I'm comfortable with due to being stretched by the increasing responsibilities in both areas.

A second reason I made the choice to step down as E.D. is that I am eager to put my full attention on developing curriculum to share NVC with new and larger audiences, primarily organizations and in institutional and systemic settings.

Given that there has been relatively little curriculum in the world of NVC developed for these audiences, I realized that it will require space and time to design, test and implement trainings in these settings... something that I found impossible to do while also holding the E.D. roles.

In the next hour, we will be sending an updated email announcement about our hiring process, so you will see more in that message about how CCCO is moving forward and the skill sets that we are looking for in hiring new staff members.

I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve as E.D. of CCCO and the trust that the 2009 Board members had in me to bring me into this role.  I have learned a lot and grown a lot and have a LOT more skills than before I started.

I also give a deep bow to my predecessors, Tracy Wimberly and Andy Workum, who worked for three years before I was hired to build the organizational infrastructure that made it possible for CCCO to have the successes we have had.

Finally, I celebrate many things that we have accomplished in the last six years, among them becoming an international destination site for learning NVC, serving as a fiscal agent for other NVC projects, bringing NVC into more than 40 workplaces/organizations and sharing NVC with more than 5,000 people in public and organizational trainings.

Wishing you a great day...

Sincerely, Jeff
