Hello kayakers, canoeists and blueway supporters,

I am looking for help identifying markers on the Calusa  Blueway that are missing or damaged. I’ve compiled a tentative list and plan to get out there with new signs and posts later this month or in March to do the fixes. For example, I know 38 in Estero Bay/Hell Peckney Bay is gone. And 82 at Matlacha Pass near the bridge is gone. (Both, actually, were retrieved so we can reuse them.) I want to send out this e-mail so that I can gather more information and do a comprehensive job. Please feel free to forward or post where paddlers can see it. Here’s what I need:

·         Missing/damaged marker location. (GPS coordinates are great; general description of where it was/is in relation to something else is OK, too.)

·         Missing/damagaed marker number or letter. (I realize some markers don’t have numbers or letters.)

Please reply by a week from today – Tuesday, Feb. 15 – to bcla...@leegov.com.

If you want to look at maps of the trail while you think about where the markers are that you’ve noticed, the link is here:

Thanks for your help in keeping Lee County’s 190-mile trail in top shape.

Betsy
