Billy's Creek Clean-Up June 4th

South Florida Water Management District has asked Friends of Billy's
Creek to sponsor a pre-rainy season cleanup on June 4th on Billy's
Creek. City of Fort Myers will be supplying a trash bin and clean up
tools. SFWMD will be supplying drinks and snacks

Location: Billy's Creek Launch-Pier (towards the back) at
Shady Oaks Park 3280 Marion Street

When 9 am June 4th

PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHO CAN ATTEND AND I WILL GET THE APPROPRIATE
NUMBER OF KAYAKS

We will also have a short FOB meeting before the cleanup.
The city parks and rec has offered a kayak launch site at the
Centennial Park boat launch and we will discuss this opportunity and
how we can make it happen.

There is a good possibility of having a number of FGCU students involved in this cleanup. Neil Wilkinson was planning on having his students do several cleanups along the creek over this Summer semester. I have forwarded him the information and he should be contacting you shortly.

If you'd like us to promote the cleanup to the Calusa Blueway mailing list/facebook page, please let me know.

June 4 is National Trails Day & Billy's Creek is a part of the CB paddling trail, which is a Nationally designated trail!

Happy to help with promotion, if you want that much exposure. Let me know.
