House- June 11th- 4:00-6:00/6:30- Big Bone Lick State Historic Site
Come join FOBB for the official unveiling of the nine thematic cases in the Visitor’s Center at the park. This is the first phase, funded by an R C Durr Foundation Grant, of the Revitalization Project to upgrade the Visitor’s Center to an Interpretive Center. Opened to the public, the event will enable visitors to see the content of the cases, talk with members of the Exhibit Team from the Cincinnati Museum Center about future improvements, and learn about future changes within the park proper as well as the additional acreage, the Piner Property.
Be a Part of Something Mammoth and understand how your support can enable these changes to the Visitor’s Center become a reality.
The 260th Mary Draper Ingles Celebration- July 18th
Afternoon Events at Big Bone Lick State Historic Site
Salt of the Earth Picnic Concert on Sullivan Rd. at 7:00 PM- $25.00 per person
Mary Draper Ingles made her escape from the Shawnee in 1755 and walked 800 miles from Big Bone to her home in Virginia by following the Ohio River. Join the staff at Big Bone as they share the story of the indomitable strength of this pioneer woman whose love of family sustained her while making this incredible journey.
Later that evening join FOBB for an outdoor picnic concert and enjoy the music of Salt of the Earth (from St. Louis) whose song “Mary’s Hope” honors Mary Ingles’ strength and love of family. Bring your blankets and sit back and listen to the music while eating your picnic dinner. The cost of the ticket covers food, a beverage, and the concert. This donation will be applied to Phase 2 and 3 of the Revitalization Project taking place at BBL’s Visitor’s Center.
