We are very happy to tell you that Dr Col. C.S. Pant has been unanimously elected as the Chairman for Aarohi in the meeting of the Managing Committee held on 17 Mar 2012. We are sure that the organization will grow from strength to strength under his capable leadership. I will resume my position as Vice Chairman and continue to serve as an smanaya karyakarta  :)) (ordinary social worker).

 

Dr Col. CS Pant, VSM is a renowned Breast Radiologist in the country. He has been working in the field of Breast Radiology since 1986. After a distinguished career in the prestigious Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Science (INMAS), Delhi, India, he established a dedicated Breast Imaging Centre in the private sector in 1993, having facilities of Mammography, Ultrasound and US Guided FNAC (In collaboration with Dr Dang’s Lab, one of the leading labs in Delhi) under one roof.

Over the years, he is the most sought after speaker on breast imaging in most regional/national conferences, besides being an authority in the field of breast imaging.

Dr Pant is responsible for bringing awareness about the benefits of early breast cancer detection among various groups of women through his NGO “Forum for Breast Cancer Protection” of which he is the co-Chairperson.

He is also responsible for initiating a Unique Mobile Health Care Programme ‘Uttaranchal Mobile Hospital and Research Center’ (A joint project of Government of India, Department of Science and Technology and Government of Uttarakhand, he being the Project Director), it has been a big success and this model is being introduced in all the districts of the country through National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).

Dr Pant has been actively involved for the past five years, with ‘AAROHI’ working in rural Kumaon for development in the fields of health care, education and livelihoods.

Dr Pant has received many awards and honours for his professional and social contributions:

 

» Awarded Vishist Seva Medal on 26 January, 1987 by His Excellency, the Hon’ble President of India.

» Conceived, designed and developed Uttaranchal Mobile Clinic and Research Project, a unique state-of-the-art Health Care Model for poor and needy people of far-flung areas of Uttaranchal, India.

» President Indian Radiology and Imaging Association, 2003.

» Awarded  KM Rai Oration in 1994 by Indian Radiological and Imaging Association.

» Awarded consultancy by WHO in 1995 to conduct a bench workshop in Ultrasound in 1995 in Dhaka and Colombo.

» Awarded  Brig SK Muzumdar Oration on 21 January 1989 by Delhi Medical Association.

» Awarded 3rd Dr MS Diwedi Memorial Oration by Indian Radiological and Imaging Association Indore Branch, March 29, 2003.

» Awarded Bhagwan Das Memorial Award, 2006 by Punjab Academy of Sciences.

» Awarded PHD Chambers of Commerce Award, 2007 for Outstanding Contribution in Social Welfare.

» Vice Chairperson  Forum for Breast Cancer Protection NGO responsible for breast cancer awareness among women.

» Member core group constituted by IAEA Vienna for developing strategies for Member States on Early Breast Cancer Detection.
