Chris, this may be of interest to BU bikes folks.  The DCR currently has no plans to improve bike accommodations (e.g. by including bike lanes) or improving the ped connections at the ends of the bridge.  It would be great to have some cyclists at the meeting.

As we have discussed,  DCR is reconstructing the BU Bridge  and there has been a lot of concern about the lack of any improvements to the walking and bicycling facilities. Here is the opportunity to voice those concerns. It would be great to have as many people come as possible. 

The public meeting on the BU Bridge Rehab Project will be held on Thursday, October 16, from 6-8 p.m. at BUs College of General Studies auditorium.

Just a reminder that the public meeting on the BU Bridge Rehab Project
will be held on Thursday, October 16, from 6-8pm at BU's College of
General Studies auditorium.

Representatives of BUbikes, MassBike and other friends of BUbikes plan
to be there... please join us in reinforcing the message to the DCR
that cyclists are important users of the BU bridge who have safety
concerns that need to be included in their bridge rehabilitation
plans! (You might even want to wear something that identifies you as a
cyclist and/or pedestrian so it's easy for DCR to see our presence at
the meeting.)

If you can't make the meeting, but have concerns or questions you
would like the friends of BUbikes to raise, please let us know!
