Employment Service
· Employment Service - This is a free program for job seekers of all ages looking for work or training, regardless of source of income. Services include one-on-one career advising, workshops and access to resources to help job seekers decide what jobs are best for them, where to look and how to make contact with employers. On-the-job training is also available for those who need help entering the job market or enhancing skills for their chosen career.
Meet one-on-one with an Employment Advisor for assistance with your job search – sign-up on an ongoing basis. Services include:
· assistance with job placements
· assistance with Second Career applications
· help with your résumé, cover letter & interview prep

PAID Training & Work Experience Programs for Youth
We are currently recruiting for the following youth programs:
· Youth Job Connection (YJC) – *Next session starts April 10th: This a participant-driven, paid employment program for anyone aged 15-29, who is out- of-work and out-of-school. As part of the pre-employment training, participants build conflict resolution skills and learn about workers' rights as well participate in workshops in Leadership, Goal-Setting and Job Maintenance and receive Service Excellence and CPR training. Job Coaches provide support (for up to six months) to develop career goals and secure a placement that aligns with their goals. Post-placement supports are available for securing further employment, career advancement, education and training. · YOUTH Job Connection Student (YJCS) - Recruitment ongoing: This paid job placement program takes place throughout the school year and during the summer. It includes 20 hours of interactive workshops including Interview Skills, Goal-Setting, and Leadership. Participants get staff support before, during and after the job placement. To join the program, youth must be a student between 15 and 18 years old, in school full-time and need support finding and keeping a job. · YOUTH Job Link (YJL) – Recruitment ongoing: This program is free for job seekers ages 15-29. Youth receive assistance with the job search process, help with résumé preparation and vital interview skills, while learning strategies to succeed in the workplace. And when youth land their very first job, they receive advice on how to build and maintain business relationships and networks, and up to $300 in supports for things such as transportation, clothing, and equipment. · netWORKS - This networking opportunity teaches relationship building skills and connects job seekers with industry professionals who give real-world advice and suggestions on how and where to look for jobs, and introduce participants to other people in their own networks. Training & Work Experience for Newcomers
We are also currently recruiting for our Newcomer program:
· CONNECTIONS – *Upcoming sessions start April 16th and September 10th : This is a free 18-week program, comprised of 12 weeks of in-class Job Search Preparation, Career Planning, MS Office Suite 2010, Customer Service Excellence and Business Communication training, coupled with a six-week co-op placement. This program is for anyone that immigrated to Canada, speaks English as a second language and currently receives Ontario Works (social assistance). Participants gain Canadian workplace experience in areas of Office Support and Administration, Customer Service, Sales or Retail. · High School Student Hiring Fair Events during March Break (Registration required in advance):
During the week of March 12th -16th, we are hosting a series of Hiring Fairs with on the spot interviews on a first come, first served basis and Workshops specifically for student job seekers! If you are a student between the ages of 15-18, returning to school in September, and looking for a summer job then come by to 1415 Bathurst Street for our March break events for High School Students.
