University Rosedale All Candidates Forum - Tuesday, May 22 7:00 - 9:00pm (doors open @ 6:30)


Where: Trinity-St. Paul’s United Church

427 Bloor St. West (at Robert St.)

When: Tuesday, May 22nd.
Doors open at 6:30  Debate will run from 7:00 – 9:00.

A total of six candidates will be participating in the forum:

  • Jessica Bell (New Democratic Party)
  • Daryl Christoff (New People’s Choice Party)
  • Jo-Ann Davis (Liberal Party)
  • Tim Grant (Green Party)
  • Gillian Smith (Progressive Conservative Party)
  • Doug MacLeod (Independent)

The candidate for the Libertarian Party, Les Zulauf, will be in the audience, but will not be participating with the other candidates

Format: Each candidate will be given 2 minutes for an opening statement and 2 minutes for a closing statement. Note: these time limits [and the times given below] may be altered according to the number of candidates [the fewer the candidates, the more time each gets to speak at each interval] and the advice and wishes of the sponsoring organizations. It should not exceed 5 minutes in any case
 
Followed by: Questions from the floor, including from sponsoring organizations
 
Questions may be posed to one candidate or ideally to all candidates. If the question is for all candidates, each candidate will be given one minute each to respond.
If the question is asked of one candidate, that candidate will be given one minute to respond. – All other candidates will be given 30 seconds to comment on the question and/or its response. At the discretion of the Chair, the candidate who was asked the original question may be allowed a 30 second rebuttal.
