I am saddened to learn of Congressman Gerry Connolly's passing.

I have fond memories of working with then Providence District Supervisor Connolly and fellow SAIC employee when I lived in the Raymondale community in his Fairfax County district.  Politics seemed simpler then, he helped get our neighborhood road paved with leftover funds from a larger neighborhood.  

My favorite Gerry story is how he reacted to how easily our civic association choose their president at a community picnic Gerry attended "I wish my elections were that easy".
