I just finished updating the foycsr googlegroups page.

Thank you all for your generous support of time, effort, and financial support through donations, merchandise sales, and annual memberships.

For those of you who haven't heard, FOYCSR has been offered Yards Creek Scout Reservation, as Central NJ Council has announced it will fold due to financial reasons.  CNJC will remain a viable entity until the sale of KMSR has gone through, and it covers all it's financial obligations.

Anthony and Doug are working diligently to get an audience with the power company so they can present our proposal.  I'm confident they will approve our offer to take over the camp.

In the mean time, we are working on expanding our trustees, and more clearly defining our specific roles so we can efficiently sustain Yards Creek for years to come.  If you are interested in getting involved, please reach out to one of our trustees, or send me an email at calyxj@gmail.

What can you do?

• Talk to your friends and neighbors about our cause. There is a rich history of the camp, and many who are willing to support us with labor, ideas, suggestions, equipment and financial support
• Purchase an annual membership.  Membership dollars give us a sustainable income that we can rely upon as we make planned improvements, and develop new program ideas for the camp.
• Visit the Camp.  This is probably one of the most important things you can do to support us.  Visit us as an individual, family, or scouting unit.  As districts get split into neighboring councils, remember....  you can still make the choice to camp at Yards Creek.  We will be offering canoeing, mountain biking, wilderness camping, and cabin camping as the site plan is approved.  We will be offering week long summer camp programs, as we will be a privately owned camp.
• Eagle Projects.  Please encourage your boys to bring their Eagle Projects to the camp.  This will now be allowed as we will be a privately owned camp.
• Merchandise.  Please support us through merchandise sales of our shirts, 40th anniversary items, or fundraiser patches.  Suggest something that you would like us to offer.
• Visit us on Facebook
• Stay informed.  If you know anyone who would like to stay informed of the progress of the camp, or upcoming work days or events, please have them email me at cal...@gmail.com

Thanks again for all you do to support us.  In just a few short years, we have made a tremendous difference in the camp, and in the lives of the youth the camp supports.  Together we can make this a camp to be proud of for generations to come....
