Leaders/Scouts/Scouters:

The Hiking Trail at Yards Creek is finished. The trail is marked with blue
reflective trail markers, and it is approximately 4.25 miles in length. It
starts behind the cross over bridge, goes through the woods, around the
lake, and along the ridge side of the camp to the Kaiser Road Trail.

The trail is in need of your help. There is still much to do to improve
the trail. I am looking for volunteers to come to the camp on Sunday
October 6th to help frame the trail with fallen limbs, move rocks to build
steps, clear barberry and other brush from the trail, and do a bit of
erosion control. An excellent service project for scouts and leaders of
all ages.

Equipment Needed: Hedge trimmers, lopping sheers, rakes, shovels, pry bars
etc, and good sturdy work gloves. Plenty of water and a bag lunch.

I will assign units to certain areas based on need and skill level of
volunteers.

Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Please call me with any questions.
