Dear Subscribers to the Friends of Jerry Garcia Amphitheatre Google Group:

We are writing to let you know there has been some confusion about our Google group and a second recently-created one with a nearly identical name.We would like to help clarify the confusion.

Although anyone can create a google group mailing list using any name they choose, it is usually a social media courtesy to differentiate groups with very distinct names so members aren't confused and post on the wrong group.

This Google Group - Friends of Jerry Garcia Amphitheatre - was created in 2009 and for 5 years has been working for improvements, reduced and waived permit fees, signage and events in the Jerry Garcia Amphitheatre .

This group - Friends of Jerry Garcia Amphitheatre is your group and  the only Friends of Jerry Garcia Amphitheatre group that is fiscally sponsored by the San Francisco Parks Alliance/SFPA the non-profit that supports neighborhoods and park initiatives. We will continue to post news as we get it and encourage you to continue posting to this group as you have in the past. 

With the passage of the 2012 Park Bond there is a real opportunity for all of us to see improvements to the park and the amphitheatre. SFPA, Rec and Park GM Phil Ginsberg, District 9, 10 & 11 Supervisors and many others are working to support these efforts with us and we continue advocating for the benefit of all. We hope this helps your understanding of the two google groups posting as Friends of Jerry Garcia Amphitheatre.
