Dear Subscribers to the Friends of Jerry Garcia Amphitheatre Google Group:

This Google Group,  Friends of Jerry Garcia Amphitheatre, was created in 2009 and for 5 years has been working for improvements, reduced and waived permit fees, signage, and events in the Jerry Garcia Amphitheatre. We are undertaking a series of family-focused events in the Amphitheatre which we are calling "Saturday in the Park-McLaren" which we will continue to alert you of the progress and scheduling of what will be free 2-hours of entertainment in the Jerry Garcia Amphitheatre.

This group renamed—Friends of Jerry Garcia Amphitheatre Saturday in the Park-McLaren—is your group and the only one that is fiscally sponsored by the San Francisco Parks Alliance/SFPA, the non-profit that supports neighborhoods and park initiatives, where we are listed as "Friends of the AMP - the Amphitheatre at McLaren Park" to avoid confusion. Our group and our list have not shut down nor been replaced.  You can keep posting to this group as you have in the past.

 With the passage of the 2012 Park Bond there is a real opportunity for all of us to see improvements to the park and the amphitheatre. SFPA, Rec and Park GM Phil Ginsberg, District 9, 10 & 11 Supervisors and many others are working to support these efforts with us and we continue advocating for the benefit of all. We hope this helps your understanding of the two Google groups posting as Friends of Jerry Garcia Amphitheatre.
