Where do we drop off donations?
Donations are only accepted at the Friends of the Inn Store.
103 E University, McKinney (the PURPLE building)
The east side of the building by the open garage door.
ALL DONATIONS ARE SORTED AT THIS LOCATION.
Clothing items, toys etc will be sent to the Thrift Store 2 at the end of the day.
The only exception is food and monetary donations which need to be taken directly to the Inn.
When can we drop off our donations?
Tuesday thru Saturday 10am to 2pm.
Please do not leave donations when the store is closed, they are destroyed by the weather or stolen.
Why can't we take our donations to the Inn?
All residents receive vouchers for the stores which they use to shop for clothing and other basics while they are living at the Inn.
When they graduate they will receive a furniture and household goods voucher for their new place of residence.
What is left over is sold to the public to support the programs at the Inn.
What kind of clothing and how do you want us bring it?
The best type of clothing is in season, clean and neatly folded in boxes or bags. We accept all sizes.
We can not accept used undergarments or soiled items and there are no accommodations for clothing on hangers.
Do you take wire hangers?
No but we will accept any type of plastic.
What about toys, bikes and games?
Yes we take toys, bikes and games as long as they have all their parts. Used puzzles are never guaranteed to have all the pieces.
Due to lack of space, large items like basketball goals, trampolines or swing-sets will not be accepted.
What are some things that you do not accept?
Do you do pick ups?
Due to the cost involved in pick ups (gas, man power etc.) we will only schedule if you have large furniture. Yes we will take
your other items during the pick up.
How do I schedule a pick up?
Call
972-547-5567 Tuesday thru Saturday between 9am and 5pm.
You may have up to a 2 week wait due to the large amount of pick ups that we schedule. So please call as soon as possible.
Do you give tax receipts?
Yes
I hope this has answered a few of your questions. Because of all the wonderful donors and shopper in the past 51/2 years
we where able to open our second store, Thrift Store 2 this past August.
