Rhythm Token Reunion at The First Annual "Phil"anthopy
I know dozens of you on this email have been waiting for this for quite some time. One of the premier local acts during Phil's tenure at UGA, Rhythm Token, is getting back together for one night and we all get to relive the joy together in Phil's honor. Personally I have to give these guys credit for making my 21st birthday one of the most memorable. What a show!
Rhythm Token was formed in Gainesville, Georgia by members Tyler Lathem, Will Begnaud, JP Hester and Adam Strong in 2002. The band was and still is based on the idea that this group can get together and put on a heck of a show anytime anywhere. They moved to Athens in 2003 where the band picked up percussionist and dear friend John Ashley Reese.
Rhythm Token has played nearly every venue in the best music scene in the south known as "Athens, GA". From headlining the Georgia Theatre to "The A-frame", if you wanted music they would show up and play. The band rarely writes out a setlist and you can expect to hear anything from Warren G. to Widesread Panic. The only assurance we give is that it will be a loud and lively show.
A Note from the Band: "All of us in Rhythm Token knew Phil McGill and what a fearless individual he was. We are excited and honored to reunite for the first time in (5) years to be a part of this event."
