Hi everyone,

It seems like it's been difficult for us to get together (everyone has so much going on and it feels like it's just going to get busier).

Aangen has completed an internal review of the staff enthusiasm, community feedback, revenue and opportunity of running the McCormick Park Cafe over the last few years.

Our 1st conclusion is that we had a really wonderful time spending the summer hours with the community. It's been a really wonderful experience.

Our 2nd conclusion is that Aangen, as an organization, is moving in a very different direction in 2019 and the cafe sits outside that strategic direction.

We are handing over operations of the cafe for the 2019 summer season and beyond back to the Friends of McCormick Park to move forward as they see fit.

We are in communication with Ana Bailao's office to release our lease and timing to get everything out of the front and back containers.

It's been wonderful working with all of you. If you're ever in need of wholesale farm products (or wholesale price on delicious samosas) please let us know. :)
If you have any questions or concerns please contact us!

Thank you

Best Wishes,

Gurbeen Bhasin, MA, MSW
Executive Director

Thanks so much Joe! Much appreciated 😊
I was wondering if any FOMP members have leads on someone who would like to run the cafe? I’d love to help with that transition 😊
Enjoy your Sunday all 😃😃

Hi Friends of McCormick park,
Thanks Gurbeen and aangen for your work in the cafe.

While I haven’t been involved w the group over the last few years, I am interested in participating in the visioning/next steps process for the cafe. It is an amazing community asset and has so much potential.
When is the next fomp meeting? Or is a specific meeting on this topic best set for another day?
While a longer term vision/plan might take some time to make happen, in the short term (this summer) wondering how we can make the cafe continue. Some ideas that come to mind are reaching out to the newcomer kitchen at depanneur, or scadding court’s shipping container entrepreneurs etc..
I look forward to next steps
Cheers
Adriana
