Interesting tidbit about who the Eucharistic saint of the Garabandal coming Miracle might be! The only problem is, St. Tarcissius' feast day has always officially been celebrated on August 15th, even prior to the Garabandal apparitions, in Spain. As I discussed in my book "Of Queen and Prophets" Conchita might have gotten the name mixed up with another boy-martyr . We do know that the feast day of Saint Pancras (or Pancratius) falls on May 12th. He is a fourteen-year old martyr who was beheaded in 304 AD who refused to offer sacrifices to pagan gods and is officially the "patron of children." There are two other child-saints whose feast day falls on May 12th - Saint Palladius (not the bishop) and Blessed Imelda Lambertini, the latter being the "patron of Holy Communicants." Blessed Imelda is not a martyr per se, but she is indirectly related to the Eucharist as such because, after receiving the sacrament for the first time, she died of joy. She was only eleven years of age at the time.
Conchita said that the date of the Great Miracle would occur between the 8th and 16th (or 7th and 17th) of either the months of March, April or May. What date is directly between the 8th and 16th? 12. What date is exactly between the 7th and 17th? 12. If the saint of the Garabandal prophecies is St. Tarcissius, then his feast day would have to be changed. The Congregation for Divine Worship could do this, and may have to as, between both Blessed John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis, there have been almost three-thousand new saints who have been canonized! All this is pure conjecture, of course. The only year in which May 12th falls on a Thursday in this decade is in the year 2016.
Other Garabandal enthusiasts point to Saint Stanislaw Szczepanow, bishop Krakow, Poland who was martyred during Consecration while he celebrated Mass. His feast day is on April 11th. There are only two years in which this date falls on a Thursday in this decade - 2013 (which has already passed) and 2019 which is not out of the realm of possibility, and is only six years away.
It's quite an interesting dilemma. - Greg Rolla
