I didn't see any info on the new book.  What is it and by whom.  I know that a fiction book came out a  year or so ago on Garabandal, La Risa de la Virgeen by Enrique Alvarez.  Is this the one or is there a newer one.   Please inform.  I will start my forteenth visit to Garabandal in a few days.

I wrote "Garabandal, 50 years later" last year. It has almost 400 references to the Bible. It is not a remake on known testimonies but the result of prayer about the facts and prophecies. You could buy it electronically at this website or in paper at Garabandal.

The book you mentioned is fiction but insanous. I don't like to comment about it.

Greg just sent me his new book 'A While Longer' and I look forward to reading it.  It ties in Garabandal with Our Lady's other major apparitions like Fatima, etc. You can purchase it on Amazon.com.
Thanks Greg! The book arrived yesterday as you said it would. Have a blessed Weekend to all+

Your welcome Deacon John! I hope you enjoy it!

I say about as much as I can about Garabandal in relation to other
events/apparitions of the twentieth century.

Of course since the book covers the broad topic of the apparitions of
the twentieth century, it is not intended as a be-all, end-all about
Garabandal - it just places that apparition in context of the other
apparitions, showing where it might fit, especially in relation to
the conversion of the Jews which must happen before Jesus returns.
(A While Longer is not fiction, just to clarify, although it does
engage in speculation at various times, but it makes it clear when
doing so.)

God bless you!

One more thing.

I had come up with the speculative date for the miracle given in the
book before reading on these threads that the body of Father Luis
Marie Andreu will be found incorrupt on a GOOD FRIDAY!

I found it very exciting to read that since the date I had come up
with for the miracle falls on a Holy Thursday!

God bless you.

Greg Rolla here - how did you come up with the date? There has been so much speculation the past fifty years that, although there are 'hints', there is nothing in the way of actually revealing the date in any determinate way.

Hello,

I backed into the date from my Fatima studies. The book A While Longer
is not specifically about Garabandal. It focuses on the major
apparitions of the 20th century, especially Fatima. As I say in the
book, to me Fatima is the most important event in Salvation History
since the days of the Apostles. I see Fatima as the framing apparition
- it outlines the rest of the events of the century, such as the wars,
persecution, famine, the shooting of the Pope, the rise of Russia as a
force for evil, Russian errors and their spreading throughout the
world like a poison, the Act of Consecration to Blessed Mary's
Immaculate Heart, the period of peace, and the triumph of her
Immaculate Heart (still to come). Medjugorje is the second half, the
continuation, of Fatima. Garabandal's role, in my opinion, is about
the conversion of the Jews.

From my Fatima studies, I determined a YEAR when I think major Fatima
events will occur. Knowing about Garabandal, I then looked at April of
that year and the date of that Thursday on or between the 8th and the
16th happened to be Holy Thursday. Only later did I read on this
forum how Deacon John read in a book that is no longer in print (from
Australian Garabandal Center I think he said, called 'Garabandal')
that the priest will be found incorrupt on the Friday after the
miracle and it will be Good Friday or a Friday in Easter time. So it
might not be the date, but it does fit all that I know about it. Joey
is getting on in years but this date is not out of reach for him. And
Conchita was heard to anguish with Blessed Mary after she was
overheard asking that she not be the only one when the miracle unfolds
- hinting that the others would have passed away or be incapacitated,
and Mari Loli has passed away. Also, Conchita was overheard saying 'So
far off?' at the time she was given the date of the miracle, from what
I read, and dates in the 21st century would seem very far off in the
1960s - it would be like talking about 2060 today. So the date seems
plausible to me since everything else known about it from Garabandal
could fit it.

And it fits in nicely with other things I have come up with from
Fatima, too. Of course it is a speculative date and is presented in a
chapter that clearly says it is speculation. Only God knows the
future, and visionaries who are shown it.

So until the date passes, I like it!

God bless you.

Your specific source please for saying,"And Conchita was heard to anguish with Blessed Mary after she was overheard asking that she not be the only one when the miracle unfolds"? Thies is the first time I have heard this after attempting to read the important works on Garabandal in English and Spanish. Can you give us an author and text for that statement?

Conchita said she prayed everyday that the miracle would be with all
four of them - she did not want to be alone. And the detail 'so far
off' that Conchita said is not that important nowadays, since we know
now that it was indeed far off from the 1960s since it hasn't happened
yet after around 50 years.

http://www.ourlady.ca/info/miracleonHorizon.htm

shortly after the heading "RECORDED ON TAPE" it says it:

RECORDED ON TAPE

September 4, 1962, was a Tuesday. According to Father Valentin's
annotations, toward 11:00 in the morning Conchita fell into ecstasy at
the door of the church, and there received Communion from the Angel;
somewhat later, the same thing happened to Loli. The afternoon passed;
the night began, and at 1:30 A.M., Conchita had another ecstasy. She
went to the cemetery, passed through the streets of the village,
prayed the rosary, sang the Salve Regina. On entering her home, she
fell on her knees and said farewell to the Vision. As she was
speaking, someone near her, not satisfied with just hearing what the
girl was saying, held a microphone close to her mouth. What he
recorded served afterwards to confirm what his ears had not understood
well.

You say there's going to be a miracle? And the miracle is
going to be that?... And the Virgin will be seen?... And when?...
So far off?... With me alone... No, I don't want that... Don't do
that! Perform it with the four...

Such words could not but cause repercussions, and soon began to be
the foremost reason for comments and expectation. Five days later, on
Sunday, September 9, Dr. Ortiz in Santander recorded in his notes on
Garabandal:

My wife with her cousin, Maria Lopez-Doriga, and I were at Maximina's
house and were just beginning to eat when Conchita stopped by to pay
her respects. We invited her to join us and Maximina started kidding
with her: "We already know your secrets... That there is going to be a
miracle! You can't deny it, since it has been recorded on tape."
Conchita smiled, and after a moment of silence said,

"Yes, there's going to be a miracle. The Virgin told me, and it's
going to be very great..."
<> "When will it be?"
"I don't know." <>
"Then none of us will see it."
"Everyone will see it who is here. And the pope, from wherever
he is. And also Padre Pio.

Everyday I pray that the miracle will be with all [four] of us. But
don't say anything to anyone." <>

"Not even to Father Andreu and Father Retenaga?"
"Well, to them, yes."

On that very night of September 9, as it progressed into the
early morning of September 10, Conchita was heard again (and this was
also recorded on tape):

When you perform the miracles, perform them with all [four] of us.
I don't want to be alone by myself. Go ahead! With everyone
— you want...? You aren't telling me? Should I tell it so she knows?
[I don't know to whom this could refer — perhaps to Loli who seemed
destined to share many things.]

I have already posted one page source. I found another that is
similar but slightly different on the same website.
If you go to link

http://www.ourlady.ca/info/book3/

and click on 3-04b) Recorded on Tape it opens a page from the book
"She Went in Haste to the Mountain" By Eusebio Garcia De Pesquera,
O.F.M., CAP.
Translated from Spanish by B. Miller, Gerard Suel and Otto Miller.
( Section 3-04b) Recorded on Tape can also be found on pages 494-495
of the book if one has it.)

The webpage 3-04b says at the top: All excerpts from Conchita's Diary
will be in extra-bold type

The parts that talk about "so far away" (or "so long away" here on
this web page) and Conchita being alone for the miracle are bolded so
they should be found in her diary too.

God bless you.

Greg (or Bobby) - Greg Rolla here. Yes, you are correct. The conversation is between Conchita and the Virgin during the ecstasy on that date, and is also recorded in de Pasquera's book. I also included it in my own book, "Of Queen and Prophets: The Garabandal Events and the End of the Times". The implication seems to be that Conchita would be the only one of the four visionaries to witness the Great Miracle at Garabandal when it occurs. However, the Virgin said nothing that I know of on the passing of the other three visionaries, though Mari Loli is now deceased.

I do not know of the Virgin saying anything on the passing of the
other three visionaries, at least nothing that has been revealed by
any of them.
Conchita was concerned about being alone to the point where, she said,
she prayed everyday about it. The phrase she wrote, "I don't want to
be alone by myself..." is in that same conversation where she
mentioned about the miracle being so far off. Our Lady indicated
Conchita would be the only seer to witness the miracle. We now know
why Mari Loli - God rest her soul - won't. And for whatever reason,
the others won't see it so I am thinking they either pass away or as I
said earlier become physically incapacitated, or perhaps it could be
as simple as an airplane flight cancelled due to bad weather. While
some people might see the death of Mari Loli as weakening Garabandal,
I see it, based on what Conchita said about being alone, as
strengthening it and further, I see it as an indicator that the time
of the Warning/Miracle, while years away, is now much closer.

At Fatima, Lucia was the main visionary, then Jacinta, then Francisco.
Those two seemed to serve as witnesses to make what Lucia said more
credible. Only Lucia lived to see the Holy Father make the Act of
Consecration and to see the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
over Russia many years after the Fatima apparition. It is possible the
same dynamic is in play at Garabandal, with Conchita the main
visionary, and the others serving as supporting witnesses (albeit a
very important role - I don't mean to sound like I am diminishing the
role of any supporting witnesses at Fatima or Garabandal - anyone who
sees Our Lady and/or speaks to her is very important indeed). So
perhaps like with Fatima, and based on what Conchita said about being
"alone by myself" at the time of the Miracle , and considering the
passing of Mari Loli, Conchita might be the only surviving witness
when the events unfold.

Conchita didn't just say she would be by herself for the miracle, she
said she would be alone. Lucia at Fatima, when told that Jacinta and
Francisco would soon be with Our Lady in Heaven, reacted thus: Lucia
was sad at the first part of this reply, saying: "Am I to stay here
alone?"

While speculative since nobody knows the future except the
visionaries, it is not a completely unreasonable thought that Conchita
will stand alone as the sole surviving Garabandal seer at the time of
the Miracle. This does not have to mean literally alone - some might
pass away as did Mari Loli, and some might become incapacitated in
some way, such as Alzheimer's.

God bless you.
