Three upcoming FoFTSP events July 2025
Just a quick heads up about three upcoming FoFTSP events July 2025
-Our first July event is a multiple part event at FTSP on Saturday 12 July 2025, all Friends (including potential Friends invited by Joe) are invited to any or all of parts: First Joe and Blair are hosting this: One part starts about 6:30 in the gift shop conference room and involves a reunion of Navy folks who worked with Joe on Active sonar (Joe will pass the word to this group), another part is a tour of the FTSP museum led by Roy beginning at either 7 pm or at 7:30 pm (members who have not seen the museum for a while are welcome and might enjoy this), more discussions will be held back in the gift shop conference room and a final part is watching the fireworks from inside the Fort starting about 9:15 pm. I forget but the parking lot may be restricted to handicapped parking and folks may have to park on the local streets. Also see https://celebratenewlondon.com/
-Next July 2025 event is at 6:45 pm Monday 14 July 2025; the Waterford band led by Steve Caldwell will perform south of the Fort on the concrete pad the FoFTSP donated. The band will be provided parking close to the concrete pad to unload their musical instruments.
-The final planned July 2025 event is a bit nuanced and will not be widely advertised nor available to everyone; the event is noon on Friday 18 July 2025 at the maintenance garage at the southern end of FTSP as a thank you to those park workers and volunteers (like the gift shop folks, docents and FoFTSP leaders) who help make the FTSP and FoFTSP a success. I will pick up pizza and related items and bring them over at about noon.
