One is about an annual meeting that we just found out about and is forwarded below and I am hopeful that we might have a couple of individuals available on short notice to attend Wednesday 3/25/2026 in Hartford State Capitol Building from 10:00-2:30
The second is our monthly leadership meeting (to which all members, old, new and future are invited.)

Hello Friends,
Final approval for our event did not come until Tuesday this week despite applying months in advance. Obviously, this makes planning very difficult. We were very reluctant to have Friends and others add this to calendars and put together displays when Capitol personnel might in the end disallow the event. We apologize for giving all of you such short notice. That said we would very much welcome seeing as many of you as possible on Wednesday in Hartford.
Details about parking etc. are below with a contact cell number and an email address for Chris Koster who will be coordinating the event. If you can make it, please drop her a note or give her a call and leave a message on her phone.

This will be at the Capitol and not the Legislative Office Building. Participants will have to go through security (just like the airport) No weapons, No sharps, such as scissors etc. limited parking at the capital so please arrive early. If you miss out on those parking spots, you will have to park in the garage. Go through security at the legislative building, across the skywalk and through security again at the Capitol. Sounds far but it’s not too bad.
Please show up early to be set up and ready for 10:00am.
Please ask your local Legislators to stop by your table. They are in Hartford so very nearby.
There is food available at the legislative building or you can bring along a snack, sandwich and drink.
Bring along:
A tablecloth for an 8ft rectangular banquet folding table.
Information about your group. Displays, brochures etc.
Please advise-confirm that you are coming. We need as many friends groups and organizations to join with us. (Not just parks and deforests but other non profits that support outdoor spaces in CT.)

Wed March 25th for State Parks and Outdoor Spaces Day at the Capital in Hartford! This day is more important than ever, and a large attendance is powerful.
We're sorry that this is difficult to coordinate, but it is out of FCSP's and CFPA's control. We are waiting to hear back from Hartford on the final approval.
Please share with others, reach out to your legislatures know and let us know if you're interested in joining us.
