Historical Boat Tours Return for the Summer

Friday, June 13 - Sunday, June 15

 

Celebrate Father’s Day Weekend on the River! 

 

These recurring historical boat tours bring the Thames River to life with a passionate docent leading the way. Hop on board and learn something new about this storied waterway or sit back and catch the breeze during the 75-minute excursion. 

 

The park is thrilled to announce the new boat tour launch site at the Submarine Force Museum, the Nautilus Pier, will be active for the summer starting Friday, June 13th!

Keep an eye out for additional historical boat tours to be added to the calendar as the season progresses. Pop-Up boat tours will also provide folks with more stories and other unique opportunities of exploration along the Thames River.

 

 

 

 

CT Open House Day

Saturday, June 14 | All Day

New London-Groton

 

More than 200 tourism attractions across the state, including museums, arts and cultural venues, historical sites, farms and restaurants, will welcome visitors with special offers in honor of CT Open House Day. This year marks the 21st anniversary of celebrating the unique array of attractions that make the state so special.

 

Guests who purchase a historical boat tour ticket through Thames River Heritage Park will also be eligible for a same-day Hop On, Hop Off Harbor Cruise.

Avery-Copp House Museum

See special summer exhibits, play old-fashioned games and learn how make traditional crafts by The Dirty Blue Shirts crew. Within walking distance of Hop On, Hop Off Harbor Cruise departure site, Thames Landing, Groton.

Custom House Maritime Museum

Discover the stories of the local waterfront that still shape the region today. Art, artifacts and more on display. Within walking distance of Hop On, Hop Off Harbor Cruise departure site, City Pier, New London.

10AM-5PM; Admission by Donation

 

Fort Griswold Battlefield 

Guided Tours will be led by park staff and the Museum and Monument will be open for exploration. Walk down the hill to tour the Ebenezer Avery House on park grounds. 

9AM-5PM; Free Admission 

 

Lyman Allyn Art Museum

Learners of all ages can find something up their alley at the museum. Full afternoon schedule to celebrate a new exhibit with crafts and performances.

10am-5pm; Free Admission
