Dear Friends,

Poetrywala has turned TEN!

An achievement, honourable and yet so humbling, that calls for a special occasion to present to the world wonderful books of something as powerful and yet as fragile as poetry—poetry of extraordinary quality.

Literature and the arts together form an important barometer indicating the state of a society at any given period in history. Poetry happens to be the most compelling medium of address among various literary genres. It is, of course, very niche, and therefore many big publishers across the world fail to publish it, fearing inadequate profits and, sometimes, losses too.

Poetrywala is proud to have given many poets across the world a solid platform to present their works, which are versatile and contemporary. We believe that poetry, literature and the arts can bring people closer and build bridges across countries and cultures.

To commemorate this splendid occasion, Poetrywala is organizing a one-day poetry festival in Mumbai on
Saturday, 21 September 2013, 9am onwards
C. M. Master Hall, Sir J J College of Architecture,Opp CST, D N Road, Mumbai 400101

Poetrywala will present the works of many respected seniors, contemporaries and young poets from across India as well as those from beyond the Indian shores. In celebration of the vibrant linguistic diversity that the most ancient means of expression has witnessed, poetry will be read in Marathi, Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Malayalam, English, Italian, Spanish, Hebrew and Irish.

 You are cordially invited.
