Neighbors are beginning to wonder if perhaps it is another neighbor who does not like all the visitors to Billy Goat Hill who is responsible for cutting down the rope swings at night.
Rec and Park has not been observed taking down the swing.

If anyone has any information, please come forward. Anonymity is assured.

My kids and I hired a professional tree climber, cleared out all the old rope strands, invested in spelunking grade rope, and fixed up the swing to world class proportions last year, only to have it cut down 3 weeks later.  It was very disappointing to my kids, who put a lot of work into it.

It was not cut down well – rope strands are still left hanging.  Definitely not Rec and Park.

Yes, we realized the cut ropes and were wondering if the city didn't want swings on that tree. No idea who else could have done it.

If the city had done it, they would have cleaned up the strands.  It was an amateur and mean-spirited job.  Sad.

Hi Lisa, thanks for the work you are doing on the trail to Walter Hass.  I plan to be at Billy Goat Hill at 4:30 tomorrow, 5/18, to view trail.  Perhaps I'll see you there.
