Good Afternoon;

Please allow me to introduce myself to you as the new Park Pride Community Builder.  I am filling the position recently left open by Nicolas Williams.  Before accepting this position I worked with United Way of Central Indiana's Volunteer Center, the University of Michigan's Ginsberg Center for Service Learning and Civic Engagement and Hands On Atlanta AmeriCorps.  I grew up in the Michigan Manistee national forest where I developed an appreciation for green spaces.

I have met many people in my first few weeks with Park Pride but I wanted to make a special introduction to the Friends of the Parks groups.  I look forward to working with you.  Please contact me if you have any questions, concerns or up coming projects.

Park Pride is launching a LEAD Volunteer program in January 2008.  This program will provide participants with free professional training in invasive species identification and proper removal, volunteer management, and application of herbicides.  Please contact me if you are interested in this opportunity and forward the attached information sheet to members of your Friends of the Park group.
