Dear Friends of ARCE-PA,

We cordially invite you on a bus trip with ARCE-PA to the Walters Museum, Baltimore on Saturday, September 25. It promises to be a fantastic event!

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2010

BUS TRIP TO THE WALTERS ART MUSEUM

8:30am Meet at the Kress Entrance of the Penn Museum

9:00am Bus leaves for Baltimore

12:00pm Arrive in Baltimore, Lunch on your own

1:00pm Welcome at the Walters Art Museum by Dr. Regine Schulz, Curator of Ancient Art

1:15pm "The History of the Egyptian Collection of the Walters Art Museum" by Dr. Christianne Henry, Egyptologist and Head of the Walters Library

1:45pm "The Royal Scribe and General of the Army, Haremhab" by Dr. Matthias Seidel, Adjunct Professor, Johns Hopkins University

2:15pm "Fake or Original: A Scholarly/Scientific Discussion" by Dr. Regine Schulz, Curator of Ancient Art

2:45pm Coffee Break

3:15pm Tour of the Pharaonic Collection with Dr. Matthias Seidel

4:15pm Tour of the Coptic and Islamic Collection with Dr. Regine Schulz and Dr. Amy Landau, Associate Curator of Rare Books and Manuscripts

5:00pm Walters Art Museum closes, Dinner on your own

6:30pm Bus leaves from Walters Art Museum en route to Philadelphia

9:30pm Bus arrives at Penn Museum

We invite participants to bring their beverage of choice for the bus ride. ARCE-PA will provide light snacks and water. Lunch and dinner will be on your own in the area around the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore. Those attending the trip will be provided with an informational packet which will include places to eat in the area. A raffle will also be conducted on the bus.

This trip is now open to anyone for the price of $40/person. To reserve your spot please email sig...@arce-pa.org.
