Next-Gen Ring Parties were held 1980 - 1983 at Redington Pass (with a fine display of archery by Yours Truly as Legolas), the Griffith Ranch (featuring Big Jim in the hot tub as the Troll), and another that ranged all across the Tucson Valley.   The third one featured car chases (with a sword being handed between moving vehiclea - one executing a passing maneuver on Gates Pass/Kenney Road), pyrotechnics in the Catalina Foothills and a battle at Sabino Canyon Gate.

Frankly, I'm surprised we are all still alive....

The ring party that had a freight train go through it was held on E. Marsh Station Rd. where it crosses Pantano Wash, east of Vail.  At the time, this was an abandoned road off of I-10 that had almost no traffic.  The bridge has a 90' drop and we used to go out there to practice rappelling and other ropework.  The link below is to this area on Google maps.  (I'm not clever enough to paste the map itself into here.)  The date of that party was in February 1969?  There also was another ring party that year up in the Catalinas, on 11/19/69.
