Dear Friends,
Recent scientific studies (attached) showing
strong links between persistent organic pollutants such as: dioxins, PCB's,
Hexachlorobenzene and pesticides with the onset of Type II diabetes prompted me
to search the Treasury Board of Canada's 'Federal Contaminated Sites Inventory'
for all known Federal contaminated sites containing PCB's, Dioxin and
Furans.
If you go to the link below, up will come a list of
all known sites (under our Federal Governments jurisdiction)
which contain some or all of those toxins. If you then click on the
number beside each contaminated site listed, up comes a complete report of how
much of each toxin is contained in that contaminated site as well as details of
the efforts (or non-efforts) of our Federal Government to clean up that
particular contaminated site.
It would be interesting to discover the rate of
Type II Diabetes in the communities near the worst of these contaminated
sites. Hope this media release encourages all true investigative journalists to
do a bit of 'digging'.
