To Whom It May Concern:

It has come to my attention through notice in the Abbotsford News that Dave Vernon of Ekset Contracting Ltd. has filed a permit application pending approval with the Chief Inspector of Mines, pursuant to part 10.2.1 of the Health and Safety Reclamation Code for Mines in British Columbia, a proposed mine plan together with a program for the protected and reclamation of the land and water courses related to the proposed Errock Pit(Sand & Gravel) located at Fraction South Half parcel F (plan 4708) 315018E except firstly part on SRN Plan 59961 secondly part on Plan25990 North Half. Local address-43873 Lougheed Highway, Deroche, B.C. V0M 1N0.

As a concerned Lake Errock resident, I wish to state that I am opposed to approval of this application. I feel that The Lake Errock pit is already too big and there are too many gravel pits along this side from Deroche to Lake Errock . The existing pits are already conflict gravel pits and too close to residential areas for health and noise. Any expansion of this mining would destroy the rest of the natural ecology and threaten the fish bearing Lake and adjacent spawning channel at Lake Errock . Also the extent of the proposed mining would disrupt and destroy too many aquifers and lead to an ecological disaster which could involve, water contamination, flooding and land slides. Please preserve this area for other economic options like tourism, recreation and natural habitat for species.

Sincerely, Deborah Simper

Note: I am sending a copy of this letter to Dave Vernon of Ekset Contracting
